CU & TUMFC Merge

Cincinnati United Welcomes TUMFC

Cincinnati United is excited to greet the newest member of the CU family as we announce a merger that will welcome all players, coaches and families from Thunder United Metro FC as a part of Cincinnati United Soccer Club.

Players and families from TUMFC will continue to have opportunities to train and play in Lebanon as a part of CU’s competitive program, with Lebanon Sports Complex remaining as their primary training location. As such, the merger also offers CU the chance to serve families in Warren County and the surrounding area by providing high quality soccer programming in a convenient location for their communities.

Rick Markich, TUMFC President, expressed his excitement about the merger, saying that “Thunder United is always looking for ways to create an environment that focuses on the player and his or her soccer development. Working with Cincinnati United, the proven leader in Cincinnati soccer, will provide players structure, support, and training tailored to all ages and skill levels to maximize success for all involved.”

As CU Executive Director Scott Rodgers adds, “We at Cincinnati United often talk about ‘bringing the best together,’ and this merger is another example of this vision in action. At its core, this venture offers opportunities for players to join teams in their age groups that are developmentally appropriate, opportunities for coaches to collaborate and grow, and opportunities for existing TUMFC families to connect with the soccer community in Lebanon and the greater Cincinnati area.”
