CU Announces New CUP Girls Leadership

Cincinnati United Introduces New CUP Girls Leadership

Cincinnati United Soccer Club is excited to introduce a new leadership structure for the CUP Girls program. This new structure is designed to give all premier female players the programing and attention needed to be the best players they can be.

 

Jon Pickup will assume the role of CUP Girls Director effective immediately. Jon currently serves as the CU-Southeast Director of Coaching for the Girls ages 8-12 years old and the CUP Girls South Director. Jon brings tremendous qualifications and experience to this role, including:

 

NSCAA Master Coach Diploma

NSCAA Premier Diploma

USSF A License

USSF National Youth License

NSCAA Player Development Curriculum Stage 1-5 (Ages 3 through 18)

English Football Association Preliminary Coaching License

NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma

NSCAA Sports Psychology - Special topics course

NSCAA Leadership - Special topics course

NSCAA Management - Special topics course

NSCAA Nutrition – Special topics course

 

David Robertson will take on a new role as Academy Director of Cincinnati Development Academy (CDA). As the Academy Director, David will work with US Soccer on all aspects of the 10-month girls academy program.  David will continue in a leadership role for CUP Girls, but his primary focus will be on the players in the DA. In addition to his longtime service and experience within CUP, David also holds several key qualifications, including:

 

USSF A License

NSCAA Premier Diploma

NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma

 

Kurt Fischer will remain as an assistant to the CUP Girls program. Kurt brings a long history of coaching and training players, and he has been a member of the organization since 2015. Kurt will help lead in player training, the girls winter futsal training program and various aspects of the CUP Girls operations.

 

The CUP Girls program has a long, rich history of successfully developing players and teams in the Cincinnati and surrounding communities. In 2017 the CUP U-17 Girls won a US Youth National Championship, and CUP boasts the most girls’ State Cup titles in Ohio South history. CUP Girls teams have won multiple Regional and National League championships. Please continue to watch for more leadership additions to our already outstanding CUP Girls Program.
